Now that time has passed, I believe that it is safe enough to publish the work I did for the August 2012 issue of Harper’s. The story outlined Walmart’s intent to increase its produce offerings from local farmers. After reading the copy, the most logical solution was to cut/fold/emboss farming scenes from actual Walmart receipts.
As a rule, I don’t shop at Walmart, but I figured buying produce in order to get my source material was a good enough reason to ‘take one for the team’. Enjoy.
